As part of Mayor Garcetti’s Great Streets Initiative, Councilmember David Ryu and the Great Streets Team worked to improve the vibrancy of Western Avenue (in Koreatown, Los Angeles), including cultural, transportation and economic improvements.
Beautify Earth provided the artist component on the street to beautify the facades in an effort to create immediate impact, positivity, and inspiration on the street. Kick-off Phase I included four utility boxes and five walls. Phase II was five more walls for a total of 10 clustered murals and 14 total clustered pieces or public art.
